Course Details An Apprenticeship is a combination of workplace training and classroom learning. You will complete a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce, Paediatric First Aid, key skills in communication and application of number and work skills which form the Apprenticeship Framework.
Course Content During the Apprenticeship programme, you will complete a number of mandatory units, including for example: • Promoting communication • Promoting equality and inclusion in children and young people’s settings • Engaging in personal development • Principles for implementing duty of care All apprentices will follow a functional skills programme of Maths and English. You will also undertake Employment Right & Responsibilities and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills elements, plus a technical knowledge element (covering theoretical concepts, knowledge and understanding) as part of the framework.
Course Assessment You will be assigned an assessor who will carry out observations and professional discussions with you in the work setting and will support you to build a portfolio of evidence.
Entry Requirement Although the Awarding body has no specific entry requirements for this course, we at JFC Training College do recommend that applicants have a Pass grade in GCSE, English and Maths (Grades A-C) Alternatively, For the Advanced Apprenticeship programme, you should be 16 years or older, working in a more senior role within a childcare setting, with a strong commitment towards gaining the skills and qualifications you need to help you progress in your career. You should be working at least 30 hours per week in one of the following roles: • Nursery Nurse • Youth worker
